Classic musical remake 'Grease' starring Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber?

A remake of ‘Grease’ with Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber?

So starring in a 3D film was not cutting it for Justin Bieber.  Instead he is interesting in participating in a remake of the famous classic musical romance flick Grease, with none other than Miley Cyrus as his leading lady.

“It’s been talked about a lot over the years but it would be awesome to play Danny,” Biebs told Britain’s The Sun.

With Biebs in the John Travolta role of tough guy/closet romantic Danny Zuko, he’s gunning for Miley as the object of his affection, Sandy Dumbrowski, (played in the film version by Olivia Newton-John.)

“I would go for Miley Cyrus without hesitation,” he said. “She can sing, dance and act.”

While he’s in casting mode, Bieber also suggests vocal powerhouse Susan Boyle step in as a musically-inclined Principal McGee and hints that his crush, Cheryl Cole, “would look great in the Rydell High cheerleading uniform.”

I think Miley Cyrus would do a great job as Sandy Dumbrowski but what is your opinion on Justin Bieber acting as Danny Zuko?  Post your comments here =]

New on DVD & Blu-ray, Week of August 17: ‘The Last Song’

‘The Last Song’

The movie 'Last Song' starring Miley Cyrus

What It’s About: Based on best-selling novelist Nicholas Sparks’ (“A Walk to Remember,” “The Notebook”) novel, “The Last Song” is set in a small Southern beach town where an estranged father (Greg Kinnear) gets a chance to spend the summer with his reluctant teenage daughter (Miley Cyrus), who’d rather be home in New York. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common — music. It also helps to have a hunky boy around for her.

It’s Kinda Like: ‘Dear John’ meets ‘Hannah Montana’

What We Say: Miley Cyrus and Nicholas Sparks fans will embrace this predictable teen soap opera that has all the pat tropes in the right place: Cyrus starts out as an alienated teenager who dislikes her father and, though a child prodigy, doesn’t want to attend Julliard; she meets a handsome young man in a cute way; falls in love; learns to understand her father; and even finds her way back to her music. What more could we ask for?

Blu-ray extras:
Commentary, alternate opening, deleted scenes.

I have added a couple of candids of Miley Cyrus on the set of her upcoming film, LOL: Laugh Out Loud starring alongside Demi Moore and Ashley Greene. Take a look at the pictures:

Miley Cyrus’ next film is titled LOL: Laughing Out Loud and she is starring opposite of Demi Moore. Moore will be playing her mother.

For those of you who do not know, LOL: Laughing Out Loud is actually a remake of a French independent film of the same film. I have the trailer for you below so you can get an idea of what Miley’s film will be like. Miley will be playing the character of Lola. From the looks of it, Miley will definitely be dealing with much darker themes such as drugs and sex which will be very different from her Hannah Montana persona. Watch it below and let me know what you think:

Yesterday I posted news regarding to the UK premiere of The Last Song starring Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. Unfortunately, because of natural circumstances, they were not able to attend the premiere because of the volcano in Iceland. But! Miley recorded a video message just for the audience in attendance:

You have all heard about the drama of Iceland’s volcano that is spewing ash into the atmosphere causing massive delays in airports all around the world. Well, Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, and Julie Anne Robinson are stuck because of it. The Last Song was set to premiere in London tonight (April 20, 2010) but it will be missing the biggest stars of the movie. Naturally, people are upset.

In a statement:

Due to the current flight restrictions over the UK we would like to inform you that Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth and Julie Anne Robinson will no longer be attending the European Charity Premiere of The Last Song in support of Great Ormond Street Children’s’ Hospital on Tuesday 20th April, 2010. This screening will still go ahead for ticket holders.

The problem is, volcanic ash can be considerably dangerous to airplanes. Volcanic ash is composed of tiny particles of rock and silica (glass) and if the ash gets into an airplane’s engine, it will destroy it within a matter of minutes. So, Miley being grounded in the States is for her own safety.

Miley.biz has an exclusive scene from The Last Song where Miley Cyrus is in the car with on-screen (and off-screen) boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. In it, she is singing She Will Be Loved. It’s a pretty funny scene! Especially when Liam tries to join Miley.

“The Last Song,” the new drama based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, debuted at the top of the North American box office Wednesday with a decent one-day gross of $5.1 million in ticket sales from 2,673 locations. The Buena Vista/Touchstone release scored an average of $1,917 per theater.

Directed by Julie Anne Robinson, the movie stars Miley Cyrus as a rebellious teenager forced to spend the summer at her dad’s beach home. I know it sounds like a “Life as a House” ripoff, and in my book, the movie is terrible. Still, it looks like it’s going to perform well enough this weekend.

Also doing well Wednesday was DreamWorks’ “How to Train Your Dragon,” which bagged another $4.5 million for a total haul of $57.8 million. Following in third place with $1.9 million was “Alice in Wonderland,” which generated $1.9 million for a domestic total of $299.4 million.
